What to expect at your first session?
Our first session together focuses on getting acquainted and exploring what you'd like me to help you with. It's a chance to discuss your goals, expectations, and any questions you have about the process.
I will explain the workings of the Brain to help you understand why you are feeling, thinking and behaving the way you do, is because your brain & body (nervous system) is currently wired for Protection, to keep you safe. Having this awareness is the first step in healing, and will help to affect the positive changes you’re wanting to make.
After the session I will send you a complementary MP3 hypnosis to listen to at bedtime, which will help to optimise your sleep, and support the work we will be doing together.
This consultation is not required for Smoking/Vaping Cessation.
Future sessions combines psychotherapy, a talking therapy, with hypnotherapy, a relaxation technique.
How many sessions will I need?
The therapeutic approaches I use are designed for shorter-term treatment, however the number of therapy sessions needed is highly individualised and depends on various factors, including the specific goals, and your individual circumstances.
For lasting change most people will experience a noticeable shift in their mental state or behaviour within the first 8-12 sessions, sometimes it will be less and sometimes it will be more.
For Specific phobias it's approximately 4 sessions, however if you're dealing with an underlying issue like generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), more sessions might be needed to address the root of your anxiety and develop effective coping mechanisms.
Non-specific phobias such as panic attacks, agoraphobia, social phobia etc, and/or in the presence of negative habits, depression, or high levels of stress will normally require more sessions.
Why use Zoom?
Zoom offers several advantages, including convenience, comfort, and increased accessibility. It allows you to receive hypnotherapy from the comfort of your own home, saving time and travel costs. This can also lead to a more relaxed and secure environment, potentially facilitating a deeper therapeutic experience.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) recommend the use of platforms like Zoom for hypnotherapy sessions, particularly for independent practitioners.
NCH also recognises that online sessions, including those conducted via Zoom, can be just as effective as in-person sessions and offers greater flexibility and convenience.

Your Autonomic Nervous System is “Stuck” in “PROTECTION” mode, not realising you are “Safe” to receive the things you want.
Caused by a moment or moments in time, when your body went into a state of alarm, and your nervous system became dysregulated, because you weren't able to fully process what happened.
Your nervous system isn’t trying to harm you, it’s trying to “PROTECT” you from more stress & pain in the future.
So in fact you're right where you're supposed to be, you’re in self-protection (SURVIVAL MODE).
We just have to work on showing your body it’s now ‘SAFE’ to come out of Protection and into Connection, so you don't feel stuck.

So you can choose to break unhelpful patterns, and self-limiting beliefs, that are keeping you stuck, and getting in the way of achieving your healing goals.
Root-Cause Therapy (RCT) & Hypnotherapy, are hybrids of coaching and therapy, using top-down & bottom-up approaches to heal the root cause, i.e. your nervous system.
Helping to take your body & mind out of “PROTECTION” and into “CONNECTION”, to achieve homeostasis.
